Not only will you learn about the local ingredients at the colorful markets, but we will also invite a local chef for a cooking class.

MEXICO

In 2010 Mexican cuisine joined a select group of countries and regions whose gastronomy is recognized by the UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Mexico's cultural and natural diversity can't be better showcased than by its food.

With your Spanish instructors you will discover the colorful markets. You will learn about the ingredients and taste them in the typical "puestos de comida", where women prepare simple, but delicious dishes.

Insights into Mexican cuisine will be given by our cook during a cooking class. Depending on the season, you will learn how to prepare Chile en Nogada, Enchiladas, Pozole, Mole,... and much more

SPAIN

Spanish gastronomy is one of the most renowned in the world. Paella, the Spanish omelet and Iberian cured ham are world-famous.

But the country has much more to offer. Spain has hundreds of kilometers of rivers and is surrounded by the Cantabrian Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic. A rich source of great culinary delights. And of course, Spain is also home to some of the finest wines in the world.

Among other gastronomic activities, with your Spanish instructors you will be able to taste the flavors of Spanish gastronomy when we go “a tapear” and visit the local markets. In Jerez, you will see how the typical sweet Andalusian wine, sherry, is produced.

Finally, with our cook, you will also have new insights into Spanish cuisine by cooking yourself.

DEBBIE B.

"Definitely, Spain is so much more than paella, Iberian ham, olives and wine. I had a great time eating fresh fish in a chiringuito on the beach surrounded by the dunes of La Doñana national Park. Or having a meal at the local foodmarket, where everything is prepared with fresh ingredients straight from the counter. And of course, preparing an arroz negro during a cooking class. This was a great way to improve my Spanish! And good to know: although you can eat tortillas in Spain and Mexico, they are different things :-)"
